Why Is This Product On Rise?

This special mixing medium and finish is suitable even in the display, art, and show fields. It is mildew resistant, odorless, and dries clear. Ideal for restoring old finishes to their original brilliance, sealing and preserving painted work, faux finishing, and as an adhesive for paper mache.

    Specifications and Important Details

    Use onPlaster, wood, masonry and brick where a soft low luster finish and sealer is desired. Excellent medium for artist colors and universal tints. Ideal for restoring old finishes to their original brilliance, sealing and preserving painted work, faux finishing. Dries clear. Available in gloss and matte sheens.When specifying matte or satin finishes the best surface clarity is achieved by starting with gloss coats and using the lower sheen as the final coat.
    LimitationsSafecoat paints are made without formaldehyde preservatives. Do not contaminate. Store in airtight containers. Do not use when indoor temperature is below 55 degrees F. Do not freeze. Thick application, high humidity or conditions other than normal will cause Safecoat to dry and cure more slowly.
    surface PreparationClean surfaces of dirt, grease, mildew and oil. Surfaces painted with oil based coatings should be sanded to promote adhesion (all gloss must be removed). Wet sanding is recommended. Surface should be completely dry before application. Always spot test for adhesion over prior coatings.
    ApplicationBefore using, stir Safecoat AcriGlaze well, then apply as is. Apply with a brush, roller or airless sprayer. Spraying, reduce with up to 1/2 pint of water per gallon. Use a painter’s mask when spraying. (Note: highpile heights will add additional texture.) Airless sprayers should have a 17/1000 to 21/1000 tip (reversible type is best). Only a 30 mesh high pressure filter should be used. Use a painter’s mask when spraying. For full coverage application, overlap preceding application with 1/4 to 1/2 the fan width at a distance of 18” from surface. 
    Drying/Curing TimeRe-coatable after 2 hours in normal conditions. Normal conditions include a dry surface, access to fresh air flow, moderate humidity, and temperatures above 55 degrees F 
    Health PrecautionsAs with all coatings and sealers, keep container tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not take internally. Keep from freezing. Always use adequate ventilation.
